What are you doing New Year's Eve?

We actually have plans, but that has never stopped me from decorating my table!

My centerpiece is an ornament tree with New Year ornaments that I have collected through the years.

At each place I have a gold charger topped with a golden snowflake plate. Place card of golden ink on ivory held by golden place card holders. I know that flute glasses are better for champagne, but the saucer type look so old fashioned!

I started with an ivory table cloth and a gold sequined runner and gold napkins with gold napkin rings.

Happy New Year!!!

I will be sharing with Between Naps on the Porch.

Happy New Year with a Touch of Teal!

We usually go out of town on New Year's Eve to see a concert by our favorite band, but this year we were on vacation when the tickets went on sale. I tried to get tickets, but never could find good ones, so we just figured that this was meant to be a stay at home year. Glad we didn't get the tickets now, because I have had a nasty cold since the day after Christmas and I still don't feel up to much celebrating. But I decorated my dining room table anyway!

I at first envisioned this as a silver, black, white table with a pop of teal or peacock blue. But there were several problems with this color scheme. My "silver" tablecloth that I bought on clearance last year at Target is really just gray. I wish it were more metallic silver. My ornament tree is gold. Lots of the New Year's Eve ornaments I put on the tree are gold. I didn't have any teal or peacock blue napkins. I KNOW I have some paper ones, but I couldn't even find them! SO, a dash of gold needed to be added in the form of gold napkins with a sliver napkin ring.

My ornament tree on a peacock blue beaded charger and surrounded by silver balls and teal acrylic jewels.

At each place I put a black and rhinestone charger with a white plate, silver/gold flatware and a tiny champagne bucket candle and of course, a champagne flute!
I added a few party hats - one teal-  I have collected through the years as well as noisemakers.

I hope you have a very Happy New Year filled with wealth, health and happiness!

Out With the Old, In With the New!

I had a wonderful Christmas and hope you did too! I can't believe it's going to be 2013 in a few days!
I'm not sure I am ready for the New Year, but my dinner table is!

I bought this gold tablecloth at Bed, Bath & Beyond and used my gold and silver beaded snowflake runner from Target.
On top of the runner I placed my ornament tree which is decorated with ornaments that symbolize New Year's Eve: Champagne glasses, party hats, an hour glass, etc.

At each place setting I used ivory plates with golden snowflakes bought from Cracker Barrel years ago. I also used ivory napkins with Target Snowflake napkin rings and a little Champagne bucket candle from Bed, Bath & Beyond.

On the mantle, I have gold and silver trees and snowflakes.

I have put on my gold tablecloth and used a beaded snowflake runner I got at Target for 50% off. I used my gold ornament tree and hung silver and gold glitter ornaments and some New Year's hats and saucer champagne ornaments from KMart (also 50% off). I used both gold and silver chargers and my snowflake plates that I got from Cracker Barrel last year. I have my water goblets with the silver and Greek Key trim and some saucer champagne glasses. I used ivory napkins with silver snowflake napkin rings. Between the plates and the chargers I used large plastic snowflakes from the Dollar Store. I saw these used by Susan at A Southern Daydreamer last year, so when I saw them this year I grabbed them ! Thanks Susan for a great idea!
