Wednesday Combo Post

This is the Wednesday after my daughter's prom, so I am doing a combo post.

First for What's on Your Wall Wednesday, sponsored by Barb at Grits and Glamour.

This is my younger daughter on the left with one of her very best friends before the prom. Aren't they lovely? They just happen to be standing by a watercolor that was given to me and my husband by our local college. It is the local Confederate monument. As you may know, hubby is a big Civil War buff and re-enactor. We lead tours of Civil War battlefields for the college and in appreciation, they gave us this painting. One of the special things about this monument is that on the inscription it lists supporters that gave money to erect it. One of them is listed as "A Generous Foe." That is what has made this a monument of healing rather than division.

Now on to Outdoor Wednesday, hosted by Susan at A Southern Daydreamer.

Here is an outdoor picture of some of the group before the prom on my porch.

I posted this print for What's on Your Wall Wednesday and promised a Tablescape to go with it.

We have several peacock ornaments from our Christmas tree that were still easy to get to. The china is Spode Buttercup Faire by Kim Parker. My younger daughter bought some from TJ Maxx for $1.00 a plate. It has since been discontinued, but I thought the colors were good. I rummaged through my remnant chest for the fabric and the wine had a pretty label. I know in the print it is cognac and a see through bottle, but it's my table!!!

Again, the inspiration for making tablescapes from the prints on my wall came from the Tablesetting Forum at Recipezaar. I you haven't been there, please drop by!!!

What's On Your Wall Wednesday

For my first What's on Your Wall Wednesday hosed by Barb at Grits and Glamour!
http://gritsglamour.blogspot.com/ (If anyone can tell me how to make it link, I would be grateful!!!)
This print hangs in our billiards room. We loved the colors and how it seems to glow with late afternoon sun. We also have a bar in the billiards room, so the cognac theme fits and peacocks are very Victorian.

For my next Tablescape Tuesday, I have set up a table inspired by this print, so stay tuned! Don't forget to visit Barb at http://gritsglamour.blogspot.com/ :D Jewel
