I took these pictures last Tuesday wanting to share them last week, but better late than never!
It's that time of year again - my wisteria arbor is in bloom!
The arbor is right on the property line between me and my next door neighbors. Originally my house and this house were occupied by mother and daughter and this is still the stairway between the two houses.
Here is a view from under the arbor, looking towards my garage.
Also, my columbine and Scotch broom are blooming.

I am always amazed at the lush spring growth in southern states...what fabulous beauty!

I have tried to grow wisteria to no avail-not enough sun. There was a farmhouse on my walk to school when I was a kid that had a vine that crawled right up to the top of the chimney. when it bloomed, it took your breath away.

this summer and I just printed off one on Asheville, N.C. I was in North Carolina about 20 years ago and I want to go back. Any suggestions? Love wisteria specially when it creates an arbor. We have one right here at our new home but the previous owner CUT IT DOWN!! She said she could not control it. Well I'm gonna let it grow and give it a try. Any tips?

Oh , living in the desert we never get to see anything at all like your gorgeous wisteria. It is just so gorgeous. I think I would probably just sit and star at it all day. What a gorgeous plant. Sure beats cactus and desert landscaping or xeriscape. lol Thanks for stopping by and your sweet comments about my scales. I so agree with you that there is rarely any kind of detail to today's things, just like your radiators, a space heater is now and I so prefer yesterday and the lovely embellishment on things. I used to be afraid of wisteria; when I was 7, my parents bought a summer cottage and a HUGE wisteria vine stretched across most of the back property; I thought it was the spookiest thing ever, as it was just so immense and LOOMED over everything. I was so frightened that my Dad cut the whole thing down. Now, I wish I had a gorgeous wisteria stretching across my own yard! The best one I've seen around here grows on a fence at an auto body repair shop, can you believe that?
And a party for 80? We are sisters under the skin, kiddo. What fun!
