This is my younger daughter on the left with one of her very best friends before the prom. Aren't they lovely? They just happen to be standing by a watercolor that was given to me and my husband by our local college. It is the local Confederate monument. As you may know, hubby is a big Civil War buff and re-enactor. We lead tours of Civil War battlefields for the college and in appreciation, they gave us this painting. One of the special things about this monument is that on the inscription it lists supporters that gave money to erect it. One of them is listed as "A Generous Foe." That is what has made this a monument of healing rather than division.

What a beauty your daughter is. What an exciting time in her life. I remember it well. (Heyyy - I'm not *that* old!) :-D
That is just a beautiful print. My hubby also is a Civil War buff. We collect Civil War prints. We actually own a very expensive painting of a Union General. (we inherited it) It's in the attic. Just kidding. :-)

Your daughter is just beautiful -- and her dress is perfect for her; love the color, so nice with her blonde coloring.

Your daughter is just beautiful and is there anyone who doesn't love the promise of prom pictures. Were we ever that young? Thanks for sharing the photos with us.
While the picture on the wall is interesting and nice it pales in comparison to these young, vibrant grads.
After all the prep for this big event and the morning breakfast you should take some time for you and join in our Treat Yourself Thursday at my site.

What a great gift the school gave you and your husband! My husband is also very knowledgeable about the Civil War and loves to read up on it. He especially enjoyed our trip to Charleston last month.
I did a post on Tuesday of my daughter's prom~it's that time of year I guess!!! Your daughter is just beautiful~love her hair and dress. Her friend is pretty too.
