Valentine's Day 2017

Just a quick update with my Valentine's Day table!

I really think my Spode Pink Tower is perfect for Valentine's Day!

Valentine's Day with My Everyday

 Happy Valentine's Day!

I have lots of china patterns and plates for different seasons, but not for Valentine's Day. Probably because my everyday china is Spode Pink Tower and I have never found anything prettier! I've talked about my love for this pattern lots on this blog - most notably HERE.

So for this table, I used a red paisley tablecloth with gold chargers, Fostoria stemware and flatware with a gold beaded edge, pink napkins with a red napkin ring and my Spode Pink Tower plates.

I added a few additions to my usual Valentine's Day centerpiece. I used a small, red cake plate on the bottom and I added some battery operated wire lights! These were a gift from a friend and I love how versatile they are! Light are off above and on below.

The little battery box was easily hidden by some faux rose petal leaves and heart table scatter.

On the mantel, I have some "Let It Snow" decor.
Below is a closeup of an individual place setting.

I hope your Valentine's Day is wonderful! Now I'm off to prepare for Presidents' Day!

Valentine's Day with Cream Soup!

I am getting ready for Valentine's Day and, of course, will be linking to Tablescape Thursday at Between Naps on the Porch. Also joining the Valentine's Day Party at Laurie' Blog- Bargain Hunting (and Chatting) with Laurie.
I am using my Spode Pink Tower china for this Valentine's Day table and I have a new addition to this pattern - cream soups and saucers. Growing up, my grandmother always talked about her "good" china and added, "I even have the cream soups." I remember one of her cousins offered to buy the cream soups and saucers and her refusing. I didn't know why they were so special, but I always hoped I would one day have the cream soups in my pattern. Of course, I have LOTS of patterns now, but until last week, NO cream soups. One reason was cost and the other reason was rarity. They aren't made in every pattern and when they are, they are very expensive. Luckily, a few weeks ago, I saw a listing on Ebay for a good price and when they arrived they were all in good shape! NOW I have my cream soups and their saucers! Below is the whole table.
The place setting - I am using my platinum beaded place mats, gold chargers, red hock wine and gold and silver rimmed water glasses with a gold napkin and a red napkin ring.

Here is my centerpiece - my gold ornament tree hung with blown glass hearts in red, silver and pink
A few more shots of the table
Here is another prized piece of this pattern - my covered vegetable dish.
Now that I have the cream soup and saucers in this set, dare I dream to get the tureen? Maybe one day!!!
Happy Valentine's Day!

Valentine Party with Laurie

Just for the Valentine's Day Party with Laurie at Bargain Hunting and Chatting with Laurie!

I took all the snowflakes of my Dining Room table last night just to have something to fresh to show at Laurie's Party. I went with a Red and Gold Valentine theme.

I started with a burgundy red tablecloth I got from Target years ago and then put a runner with cherubs on top. The closest I have to Cupid!

For the centerpeice I used a gold beaded charger from Tuesday Morning clearance. There was only one, so it is perfect for a centerpiece! On top of that is a stacking set of glass cakeplates with hearts along the edge. I accented them with blown glass hearts attached with heart ribbon and then threw red and pink acrylic heart scatters all over. On top is a vase with red roses. I once blogged a tutorial about how to do this centerpiece CLICK HERE.

For the place setting, I used gold chargers and Spode Pink Tower. The stemware- gold/silver Greek Key goblets and red wine hocks. Completed with my faux Grand Baroque silverplate and gold napkins with a red napkin ring. Someone asked last night where I got the Spode Pink Tower and I will answer them directly but in case you wonder too - I was lucky enough to get a whole set before Spode discontinued it. Wouldn't it figure that after I pick a new everyday pattern - one that has been in constant production since the 1830's - that Spode would discontinue it? SIGH!

I was very happy with the results!

Aren't the wine glasses gorgeous? My daughter Emily had them shipped to me from Ireland where she went with her college. They arrived the day before my birthday from Celtic Crystal!

In my foyer I have some more glass hearts.

And that's about it for my Valentine's Day decor!

Happy Valentine's Day

Once again it's Tablescape Thursday sponsored by Susan at BETWEEN NAPS ON THE PORCH!

Thanks Susan for hosting Tablescape Thursday every week!

My dining room table is still Waltzing with Snowflakes (click if you missed it last week), so I am recycling some Valentine's Day table pictures from year's past!

My china is Spode Pink Tower. That's what I consider our everyday china. I got it for our 20th Anniversary. I think it matches my dining room perfectly. The goblets with the gold and silver Greek key design were a gift from my daughters and they got them from TJ Maxx. The red wine hocks were from Ross-Simons years ago.
