Pumpkins and Pilgrims and Turkey, Oh My!

I think I have shared before that I love fall! I love Christmas, but after Halloween, I decorate for Thanksgiving!

This tablecloth is a beautiful shade of green, but I just can't get it to photograph beautifully! You will just have to take my word for it!

I am using wooden chargers with leaves embossed on the rim with my Spode Woodland Turkey plates. The stemware has both silver and gold touches just like the flatware. I am using old gold napkins with metal napkin rings.

I found these vintage Thanksgiving images on little clothespins at World Market. They pin right onto the napkin rings!

For my centerpiece, I put a beaded pumpkin placemat in the center and put some leaves and acrylic jewels around and place a turkey in the middle.

I put some corn pillar candles on golden pillars at each end.

Each place got a Thanksgiving Cracker (from Amazon) and a Pilgrim Place Card (from Paper Source).

I can't wait to open the crackers and see our treats!

The dining room tea cart is still full of Thanksgiving goodies.

So is the hanging shelf!

I have a nice selection of Spode Woodland in the kitchen ready for the big day!

Love my pie bird!

Tea Pot

Gravy Boat with Stand

And, of course, a Turkey Platter!

My sweet husband saw me drooling over the Staub Pumpkin Cocotte in Sur La Table and bought it for me for a Christmas present. Then he couldn't wait to give it to me, so I am already enjoying it while pumpkins are still in season!

Here is a Hunters' Chicken I prepared in it. Delicious! I just love it!

Still counting my blessings here - I will be sharing this with Between Naps on the Porch and Rustic and Refined.

Creepy Elegance for Halloween!

Only a few more days until Halloween! I have moved aside my warm, inviting Autumn colors (CLICK HERE FOR WARM AND INVITING) for creepy ones this week!

On top of the white tablecloth I added a black lace runner featuring a spiderweb pattern. I added purple placemats and orange napkins with red napkin rings for pops of seasonal color. And of course, I added purple, orange and red acrylic "jewels" on the runner.

For my centerpiece, I added a a white pumpkin on a cake plate on top of a small mirror. And I put orange candles to my candleabras. I only had 4 glittery orange candles and two regular orange, so the candles in the middle are a different orange!

A few more ghoulish touches - a spiderweb serving plate with skelton hand servers and the goblets are from Walgreens and have a jeweled spider.

I used black, jeweled chargers and white dinner plates topped with black and silver paper salad plates featuring a skull.
And when asked to pass the salt or pepper....

Here's hoping you have lots of treats and no tricks this week! I will be sharing with Between Naps on the Porch and Rustic & Refined

Autumn Update

Well, this has been a very wet fall so far in my part of NC! But luckily, we didn't float away and the sun is now shining and the sky is a bright Carolina Blue!

I was able to do some Autumn decorating even in the rain. Here is the arrangement in my epergne in my foyer.

I also changed out my ferns on the front porch for some pumpkin stacks! I loved how they turned out!

I didn't set a whole new table this week. I just used my last tablescape (CLICK HERE) and added some corn pillar candles and some pumpkin salad plates on top of the Spode Woodland dinner plates.

That's my latest Autumn Update! I will be posting on Between Naps on the Porch and Rustic and Refined.

Pumpkins and Pheasants

Well, the weather here is dreary, so I need a pretty table full of fall goodies to brighten things up! What are a few of my favorite Fall things? Pumpkins and Pheasants!

I started with an Ivory tablecloth and gold chargers. I added a runner full of appliqued pumpkins from Big Lots that I bought a few years ago.

I used my Spode Woodland Pheasant plates, green goblets (from Target several years back) and dark gold napkins with a pumpkin napkin ring and pumpkin place card holders (also from Target in years past).

For my centerpiece, I used a beaded placemat (TJ Maxx) with a ceramic pumpkin elevated on a small glass cake stand.

Of course, I scattered a few autumnal colored acrylic jewels around the centerpiece!

On my mantle, I have pumpkins and turkeys (not pheasants), but it's all autumnal!

On a side note, I go this teapot and creamer a few years ago at TJ Maxx. There was no sugar bowl, but I figured I could find one some day. Well, it took a few years, but one finally popped up on eBay a few weeks ago!!! Pepper Tree Tea Wares is the only marking on the bottom. I love the Fally look of this tea set!

Celebrating Nature's Bounty with Evesham Gold

My house is gradually falling into Fall this year. Before I go Full Out Fall in the dining room I am going to share a table with Royal Worcester Evesham Gold. I have blogged about this pattern several times before. CLICK HERE for a few examples.
Evesham china is decorated with fruits and vegetables, so it is especially appropriate for a harvest- time table!

I started with a white tablecloth and gold chargers and then added the dinner plates, silverware and gold napkins with white porcelain napkin rings.

I used clear Fostoria Water Glasses and green Imperial Goblets.

On top of the dinner plates, I added one of my newest eBay acquisitions, 6 cream soup cups and saucers. These were items I had seen in the 1980's in the Shannon Airport Shop Catalog, but never in person and I never imagined I could ever buy them! I found a lot of 6 in mint condition and had no one bid against me!

Plums on one side...

Peach and berries on the other!

This table also allows my to display a few of the many serving pieces I own.

I love this oval covered butter dish with corn.....

 and lemons and berries!

And this is the cutest mustard/jam pot

with cherries on one side and apples on the other - and notice my salt and pepper shakers also!

Another good thing about this china is that a bowl of fruit is always an appropriate centerpiece!

I hope you are enjoying this preFall season!
I will be sharing this table at Between Naps on the Porch and Rustic & Refined!

Spirit of '76 Tablescape for the 4th!

I have had a lot going on in the last couple of years: major kitchen renovation, both daughters getting engaged, and just a few weeks ago - my older daughter's wedding, complete with reception at our home! All this has not left me with much time to tablescape or blog!

I have pretty much gotten my house back in order, so I was very excited to get my dining room ready for a 4th of July Independence Day tablescape. I am especially excited about the 4th of July this year because I got some new china which is perfect - Royal Staffordshire American Heritage!

Here is a teacup showing what I believe is Mount Vernon.

Paul Revere's Ride is featured on the Cereal Bowls.

The Dinner Plate features a reproduction of the image called "Spirit of '76" and the Boston Tea Party is depicted on the Salad Plate.

I got a call this Spring from a friend who was working at her church's yard sale and she said she know I would love this china. She knows me and my tastes well so I promised to buy the box sight unseen! In the box, I found 1 dinner plate, 7 salad plates, 6 cereal bowls and 8 cups and saucers.

Since I only have 1 dinner plate, I am displaying it and a salad plate on an easel in my kitchen, as you can see above.

I put 2 of the cups and saucers on my tea cart, as you can see below.

And on my dining room table, I added gold chargers, Spode Pink Tower plates, and the Royal Staffordshire salad plates.

Lots of Red, White, and Blue Pinwheels in the Centerpiece!

I will be sharing this with Rustic and Refined and Between Naps on the Porch. Have a Happy and Safe Holiday!
