An Autumnal Attitude!

It has been so long since I blogged but when things get too busy, I have to take a bit of a break!
I do want to share an table with you today - no specific theme - just an Autumnal Attitude!

I will be sharing this with Let's Dish at Cuisine Kathleen
and Tablescape Thursday at Between Naps on the Porch.
Be sure to visit both of these blogs for many more lovely tablescapes!

I started with my gold tablecloth and added copper colored chargers. On top of that I used Spode Woodland plates with Pheasants. I used pewter goblets and off white napkins with a dark metal metallic pinecone napkin ring. For the centerpiece, I used a silver metal server with a decorated with leaves and pine cones.

On the mantle, I used mixed metallic colored pumpkins and Chinese Lantern stems.

Over in the bay window, tea is served on the tea cart!

So here is my table with Autumnal Attitude!

Flamingo Fling!

One of the fun activities I did this summer was a painting session at our local Arts Council. My daughter and I attended and both painted Flamingos - So I had to do a Flamingo Table to celebrate!

Luckily, Target had flamingo plates and straws on Clearance, which I added to items I already owned and Voila - a flamingo fling!

For my centerpiece I cut zinnias from my garden and put them in a green vase on top of the paper plaid runners.

Here are our inspirational "masterpieces" on the mantle.

Here is a close up of the place setting - fun and informal!

Full view of table and mantle.

30th Anniversary Party

I have been such a lazy blogger this summer! But I do have to share a very special tablescape with you that was for my 30th Anniversary Party. The party was extra special because it was given by my two daughters!
There were several inspirations for the tablescape. First, the traditional gift for the 30th anniversary is Pearls, so naturally there were lots of pearls. Then because my fine china looks like this
and my dining room wallpaper has cherry blossoms on it, my daughters decided to go with a pink blossom theme.
Here is the invitation, which has pink quince blossoms on it.

They made customized cherry blossom monogrammed party picks, which were almost too pretty to use!

The Fine Line Market had the cutest monogrammed cake topper and napkins!

My daughter got a cake covered with cherry blossoms and put pearls all around as well as pictures of our wedding. See the cherry blossoms on the wallpaper, too?

The table was covered in a new pink tablecloth with a lace topper from our reception 30 years ago! The centerpiece was a vase filled with pearls, gold marbles and pink acrylic jewels holding cherry blossoms.

The mantle was decorated with more pearls and pictures.
We had a wonderful time and I was very proud of my daughters! I will be sharing this with

One if By Land - Two if by Sea!

It's Tablescape Thursday sponsored by Susan at Between Naps on the Porch!

Sharing an old post today for the 4th of July!

I really do know that Paul Revere's ride didn't happen in July or in 1776 for that matter, but I thought this lantern would make a nice centerpiece for my 4th of July Tablescape. So I am calling this Tablescape "One If By Land."

I found this little lantern last year at the Target One Spot. I thought it looked like DH's re-enacting lanterns, but he said it was too small, flimsy, etc. So I saved it for just such a tablescaping occasion!

DH loved the idea for this table and even added the little Revolutionary War Soldier ornament that he was given at some point! I think he added the perfect touch!

Here is the table without the dishes. I got these placemats and napkins from our local DAR chapter after letting them use our home for their meeting and letting DH give their program.

This is my dining room mantle with the nutcrackers.

Next is my parlor.

And some patriotic decorations on the parlor pump organ.

Under the Sea Two!

For Let's Dish at Cuisine Kathleen, I am recycling an old, Beachy tablescape to celebrate the beginning of Summer! Be sure and visit Kathleen for lots more Beachy Tables!

Here is a table using the dinner plates from my new Big Lots Gibson Dishes - I call it Under the Sea.

As you can see, I am using my Tiffany Blue Tulle again. It is amazing how many tables I have used it for: Sweet 16 Breakfast at Tiffany's, Tea Time at Monet's Garden, Winter Wonderland and now Under the Sea!

The dinner plates and the napkin rings are Gibson Claremont. The salad plates are made of capiz and were from Target a few years ago. The seersucker napkins and mercury glass votive holders are also from Target.

The flatware is another Target purchase. I had seen it in the store but admit that I didn't appreciate it until I saw it used in a tablescape in my latest Southern Lady magazine. I love how the faceted handles sparkle! The stemware is Fostoria Heritage and the salad bowls are by Cambridge Glass Company "Near Cut."

Here are some pictures of the centerpiece:

I took a footed compote (Target World Bazaar several years ago) and put a blue vase (Michaels) on it. I filled the blue vase with clear acrylic shards/jewels and put silver and pearl stems in it. All of this is from my Winter Wonderland table, but I thought in this setting it seemed watery and bubbly. I surrounded everything with seashells and a few blue glass beads and some silver ornaments.

I added my Target fish salt and pepper shakers

and a pewter shell butter dish (found in my house when we moved in) and some shell butter spreaders ( Target and Big Lots).

So there you have my Under the Sea Tablescape!
