Tablescape Thursday - Summer Tables

It's Tablescape Thursday sponsored by Susan at BETWEEN NAPS ON THE PORCH!

Photobucket

I have been getting my two girls ready for college and haven't had much blogging time! As of Saturday, I will be an empty-nester. DH & I are going to the mountains for a vacation after we drop our younger daughter off, so I won't have much blogging time next week either.

But here are some of my summer tables-

This one is based on pink crepe myrtles and watermelons (see the watermelon napkin rings?). You may think that the green table cloth needs ironing, but I was really going for that casual summer look, really!!! HAHA!

Here are some pictures (that I have shared before) of my mother's birthday dinner in 2008. I used fruits for these tables.

I am beginning to get the "Fall Feeling" even though (or maybe because) it is hot and humid as can be, I keep thinking about pumpkins and turkeys. So keep an eye out for my fall tables coming soon!

Be sure to visit Susan at BETWEEN NAPS ON THE PORCH!

  6. So pretty, CJ. Pink is one of my favorites.

I hope you enjoy your empty nester status and your vacation in the mountains.

I am thinking fall, too. I even put some scarecrow arrangements out in front of my house. :)

  9. Your summer table is lovely! I can't imagine getting two girls off to college--one was hard enough! This is the perfect time for a little getaway with your husband--rest and use paper plates...better yet, eat out!

  16. I love each of these tablesettings. I really love the fruit plates. I'd love to have something that would work during all of the seasons and I bet these would do it.

I really like your centerpieces~so original and creative. The crepe myrtle is always so pretty to me because we don't have it here in the Midwest and I love how you used the fruit in the 2nd tablescape.

My daughter just left for college and I feel the reality of it sinking in. You are smart to get away and have a change of view. Have a wonderful time!!

  18. Every time I visit you I am struck by how beautiful your diningroom is. I love the wallpaper and the formality of the overall look and feel. Your red chairs and the white doilies just look like luxury to me.

Thank you so much for all your comments! I really do treasure them all. If I don't respond to all of them immediately, it is because I work full time and share a computer at home. Thanks again!!!
